This beautiful object was made in two sizes (14 and 23 cm), this being being a rare complete set.
During production, the warm crystal was shaped into a gently curved form with a profile reminiscent of a shell. The underside is finished with fine, hand-engraved horizontal lines that introduce a subtle texture to the surface.
The piece is signed and dated on the side by Tapio Wirkkala, engraved with a diamond pen. These examples of Model 3342 remain in good original condition, reflecting careful preservation over time.

Tapio Wirkkala (1915-1985) è stato un poliedrico genio del design, ampiamente considerato una figura di spicco della moderna arte industriale finlandese.
