d Romy van Rijckevorsel malt auf eklektische Weise. In ihrer Arbeit sieht man viele Bezüge zu klassischen Künstlern. (zB Gustav Klimt, dekorative Hintergründe, aber auch Egon Schiele). Es ist auch eklektisch wegen der verschiedenen Stile: Zeichnen, Graffiti, Malen ungrafische Elemente. All diese Elemente sind sehr gelungen zu einem organischen Ganzen verbunden, in dem auch eine individuelle Handschrift lauert. Das ist sehr klug, denn auch die Kombination von Bezügen und Stilen kann sehr schnell schief gehen.
In Romys Werk hört sie jedoch genau bei der richtiger Moment. Die Malereien sind sehr postmodern im Sinne von "alles ist möglich" und dennoch keineswegs unruhig. Einerseits sind die Arbeiten sehr dekorativ und andererseits auch hart und fast provokant und vulgär. Dennoch sind sie im Gleichgewicht, teilweise aufgrund von die starke Komposition.
