  Peter Donkersloot, nato nel 1959 ad Arnhem op de Bakenbergseweg 136, è lo zoo di Hilda Blom (1933) e Piet Donkersloot (1930-1986). Zijn Vader Piet è stato un illustratore di fama mondiale nel periodo estivo, grazie al suo lavoro per la dama Margriet e ad altre pubblicazioni.

  Piet's thuisstudio op de zolderverdieping was de plek waar hij zijn vakmanschap uitoefende, vaak met de jonge Peter op schoot, die gefascineerd toekeek hoe zijn vader verhalen tot leven bracht met zijn illustrazioni.
