Initially he was a house painter.
As an artist he mainly concentrated on figure representations, street scenes and performances for the public. The painting for sale is not, obviously. He also worked a lot with batik (techniques) and designed wall hangings.

Another variant of this painting is known, with dark colors and tighter lines, auctioned in 2010 at Christies. This painting is signed and dated 1932.
Artiquair had the painting cleaned and a new layer of varnish applied. - A proposito di opere artistaCor de WOLFF (Middelburg 1889 - Amsterdam 1963) De Wolff ha iniziato la sua carriera artistica con batik e xilografie. Successivamente si è dedicato alla pittura e ha praticato un'ampia varietà di tecniche grafiche. I suoi soggetti preferiti erano le fiere, i pub, i mercati, ecc., argomenti in cui molte persone sono coinvolte, spesso in modo divertente.
