Very cute Art Deco bronze sculpture of a mother bird feeding her young.
Both birds are sitting on a branch. The bronze has a lovely original patina and stands on a Belgian Black marble plinth. Signed by the famous artist Andre Vincent Becquerel, France 1925.
André Vincent Becquerel è nato a St. Andre-Farivilliers (Oise) in Francia. Ha studiato con Hector Lemaire e Prosper Lecourtier. Si è specializzato in scultura animale; mostrando una spiccata preferenza per i soggetti predatori, felini e ornitologici, che espose al Salon des Artistes Français dal 1914 al 1922. Di questo Salon divenne membro a vita. Morì a Parigi nel 1981.
