Over de kunstenaar

Christine Comyn was born in Tielt, Belgium in 1957. She attended the Sint-Lucas Academie in Ghent.

Comyn is considered one of the best aquarelle painters of her time. Her aquarelles are refined works of art, inspired by the female and all her moods. Influenced by Knopff, Schiele, Delvaux, Labisse and Leonor Fini she again puts the female figure central in her paintings but remains distant and inaccessible. Christine shows us the female in her most intimate surroundings, her inner beauty, sometimes daring, reserved at other times.

Christine Comyn is best known for her large-scale acrylics and aquarelles of young, sensual, somewhat nostalgic women.

Comyn has won several international prizes and enjoys international fame. Her works are featured in several public and private collections, including the Museum van Lien in the Netherlands.
