Over de kunstenaar
Jacob de Wit was an important Dutch artist and interior decorator from Amsterdam. He is best known for his religious Rococo pieces on ceilings, chimneys and doors in Amsterdam canal houses. He made one of his largest works for the Royal Palace of Amsterdam, depicting Moses and the Seventy Elders. One of his ceiling pieces is currently exhibited in the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. Most of his pieces are still in their original place in multiple Amsterdam canal houses.
