Over de kunstenaar

Niki Feijen is a Dutch photographer who was born in 1977 in Eindhoven. In his childhood, he was already been fascinated by World Press Photo and the National Geographic photographers, like James Stansfield. He was introduced to photography by Trey Ratcliff. Soon he discovered the combination of urban exploring and taking pictures of abandoned buildings and historical architecture. He particularly did amazing photographs of Chernobyl in Ukraine and the Church of the Nine Ghosts in Northwestern Bohemia. His photographs are characterized by the fusion of beauty and decay. Niki does not use any artificial lighting but he uses different exposures to capture a much wider light spectrum than a traditional photograph. The result is a hyper-realistic picture which would replicate the exact same thing you would see standing inside the location yourself.
