Gerda Sutton (1923-2005) born in Bedford England, soon after her studies she moved to paris where she studied at the academy of André L'Hote. She lived and worked in Paris until her dead in 2005. She painted in a neo-cubist style, portraits, landscapes and stil lifes.
Sobre el artista
Gerda Sutton nació en Bedford, Reino Unido, el 3 de abril de 1923. Tras finalizar sus estudios de ciencias tanto en Canadá como en Inglaterra, decidió centrarse únicamente en su carrera de pintura. Después de mudarse a Francia en 1955, se postuló para la Academia del pintor cubista André Lhote y se involucró con el grupo Reflets alrededor de 1965. Sutton comenzó a abandonar su estilo de pintura realista de los años cincuenta y se centró en paisajes cubistas y personajes expresionistas. Su trabajo se volvió aún más radical tras los atentados terroristas en París a mediados de los ochenta. Falleció en París el 30 de septiembre de 2005.
