Najing Xi Lu by Thomas Struth

From Wednesday February 15th, through Sunday February 26th 2017 Museum Jan van der Togt will be presenting paintings, watercolours, photography and sculptures from the KLM art collection, in co-operation with the fine art dealers E.J. van Wisselingh & Co from Haarlem. This selection is made up out of 50 pieces by important Dutch artists such as Emo Verkerk, Rob Birza, Nico Molenkamp, Koen Vermeule and Erik Andriessen, alongside international greats like Laura Hernandez, Bhupen Khakhar, Barry McGee and Bjarne Melgaard. The photographic works are by Horst P. Horst, Nicolas Nixon, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Tom Hunter and Shirin Neshat, with undeniably the greatest piece for sale a large museum photograph, ‘Nanjing Xi Lu, Shanghai’, by Thomas Struth.

KLM has been incidentally purchasing art works for decades now. In 1989, the KLM Art Committee was established to create and oversee the company’s art collecting policy.

As of 1992, the Art Committee introduced a specific purchase policy regarding contemporary art, including works by international young artists from 1995 onwards. “KLM has adapted the conservation criteria of their art collection to the company’s current course. This allows for several interesting works of art to be sold.”

Gallerease is proud to be hosting this spectacular exhibition online.

All of the included art works, accompanied with their specifications, can be viewed and are available for sale on the website: http://gallerease.com/en
