Very cute Art Deco bronze sculpture of a mother bird feeding her young.
Both birds are sitting on a branch. The bronze has a lovely original patina and stands on a Belgian Black marble plinth. Signed by the famous artist Andre Vincent Becquerel, France 1925.
André Vincent Becquerel est né à Saint-André-Farivilliers (Oise) en France. Il a étudié avec Hector Lemaire et Prosper Lecourtier. Il s'est spécialisé dans la sculpture animalière; montrant une préférence marquée pour les sujets prédateurs, félins et ornithologiques, qu'il expose au Salon des Artistes Français de 1914 à 1922. Il devient membre à vie de ce Salon. Il est décédé à Paris en 1981.
