Both birds are sitting on a branch. The bronze has a lovely original patina and stands on a Belgian Black marble plinth. Signed by the famous artist Andre Vincent Becquerel, France 1925. - About the artist
André Vincent Becquerel was born at St. Andre-Farivilliers (Oise) in France. He studied under Hector Lemaire and Prosper Lecourtier. He specialised in animal sculpture; showing a marked preference for predator, feline and ornithological subjects, which he exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1914 to 1922. He became a lifetime member of this Salon. He died in Paris in 1981.
