Barraud was a family of watch and clock makers, originating from Philip Barraud of Angoulême who settled in Greenwich around 1680. The generations include Francis Gabriel 1727-1795, Paul Philip 1752-1820, Frederick Joseph 1785-1859, John 1790-1840, Frederick Philip 1812-1849 and Hilton Paul 1819-1880.
