Born in 1980 in Pisa, Italy, Daniela Astone's artistic journey began in the picturesque sea-town of Porto Santo Stefano. At the age of 14, she formally embarked on her art education at the High School of Arts in Grosseto.
After completing her studies in 1998, Daniela relocated to Florence to pursue Illustration at the international school of comix. During her second year, she ventured into independent work for various editors and joined the Inklink illustration studio.
Feeling the need for a change at the age of 21, Daniela decided to redirect her focus and resume her studies in drawing and painting from life at The Florence Academy of Art, led by the esteemed Daniel Graves. As early as her second year, she took on a teaching role for younger students in the academy.
In 2004, Daniela graduated with distinction, receiving the end-of-year award. Despite completing her formal education, she continued to contribute significantly as a principal teacher at the Florence Academy of Art.
Her artistic prowess gained recognition in 2005 with her inaugural solo exhibition at the Ann Long Fine Art Gallery in Charleston, marking the beginning of a successful artistic career. This achievement prompted her to establish a studio in the scenic Tuscan countryside.
In 2013, Daniela assumed the role of director for the intermediate program at The Florence Academy of Art. She further showcased her talent by participating in the BP Award in London and receiving an honorable mention from the Mod Portrait Award in Spain.
Daniela's work has been exhibited internationally, and in 2016, it became a permanent part of the collection at MACS, the Contemporary Art Museum in Sicily.
Beyond her solo endeavors, Daniela collaborated with various organizations, including Tiac in China, Liveandlearn in Thailand, Streamline, and East Oaks Studio. She also conducts landscape painting workshops in her studio-house in Chianti Tuscany and across the globe.
In 2019, alongside Gaia Grazioli, Daniela curated the "Corpo a Corpo" exhibition at the Museum of Villa Bardini in Florence, sponsored by Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze and Carlo Sisi. Her multifaceted career reflects a dedication to art education, international collaboration, and a commitment to sharing her passion for landscape painting with aspiring artists worldwide.
