  • About the artist

    Enrico Ingenito lives and works in Genoa, the city where he was born forty years ago. He studied painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna. After graduating in 2004, he did a specialisation in photography and video at the art academy of Genoa.

    His canvases show nature and architecture in which the Mediterranean sunlight seems to emerge from the canvas in an almost magical way. Like a fine morning mist, he finally applies an extremely thin layer of oil paint to the painting, with which he manages to banish any northern hardness from his canvases. His paintings are astonishing because of the special technique Enrico has developed and fascinating because of the themes and colours that seem to come from a photo album from a bygone era.
