    Isaac Ouwater (1748, Amsterdam – 1793, Amsterdam), was an 18th-century Dutch painter. He worked in Amsterdam, Haarlem, and Utrecht, and is well-known for his landscapes and architectural scenes. Ouwater worked in the tradition of the 17th century painters Jan van der Heyden and Gerrit Berckheyde. Several musea, like the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, Gemeentemuseum Arnhem and the Westfries Museum in Hoorn have paintings of Ouwater in their collection.

    This painting shows us an elegant company in a rowing boat on the river Vecht near a country house and a windmill beyond.

    Isaac Ouwater est né en 1748, à Amsterdam. C'était un peintre hollandais du XVIIIe siècle. Il a travaillé à Amsterdam, Haarlem et Utrecht, et est bien connu pour ses paysages et ses scènes architecturales. Ouwater a travaillé dans la tradition des peintres du 17ème siècle Jan van der Heyden et Gerrit Berckheyde. Plusieurs musées, comme le Rijksmuseum à Amsterdam, le Gemeentemuseum Arnhem et le Westfries Museum à Hoorn ont des peintures d'Ouwater dans leur collection. Isaac est mort à Amsterdam en 1793.
