Willem Alexander Knip, nato ad Amsterdam nel 1883, morto a Blaricum nel 1967, in Olanda. Ha studiato all'Artscool di Amsterdam e ha preso lezioni di pittura ad Haarlem da J.J.C. Lebeau. Willem Knip ha vissuto ad Amsterdam e dintorni, ma ha anche lavorato regolarmente in Francia, Italia e Spagna. Pittore di paesaggi, porti e città. Ha vinto il St. Lucasprize nel 1942 e l'Arti-medaille nel 1953. Opere di W.A. Knip in possesso della Rijkscollectie, dello Stedelijk Van Abbemuseum Eindhoven e del Singer Museum di Laren.
