In 1929 he started working as an architect. One year later Hérold moved to France thanks to a ‘fake ID’ and changed his name from Blumer to Hérold. He began living in Paris and Hérold was introduced in Breton’s group, to which he contributed with his paintings. His first solo exhibition took place in 1947 and after that his reputation grew until he exhibited work at the Venice Biennale in 1986, only one year before he passed away in 1987 on January 11.
