Charlot Terhaar sive Droste (1976) formou-se na Royal Academy of Art de Haia em 2002.
Em 2003 teve a oportunidade de expor permanentemente o seu trabalho numa galeria em Breukelen. Hoje em dia o seu trabalho pode ser visto no seu estúdio em Portengen, perto de Kockengen.
Desde 2006, Charlot tem participado em diversas exposições e feiras de arte nacionais e internacionais. O seu trabalho está incluído em várias coleções privadas e corporativas, incluindo Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht em Amesterdão. Durante a Feira Internacional de Arte (IAF) em Roterdão, foi galardoada com o 'Best Artist Award'.
Em 2023, Charlot foi selecionado para participar no 'ArtistMeeting' no Grand Casino em Knokke. E em 2024 recebeu o primeiro prémio na EuropArtFair 2024 na Westergasfabriek em Amesterdão.
'Being in a state of flow, transcends a feeling beyond time and space, every streak of color or kindled shape arise out of an intrinsic desire to draw and paint. Inspired by nature and meditation the paintings of Charlot emerge responsively through different phases, exploring ‘worlds’ in which chaos and harmony meet and must agree somehow. Therefore, this intuitive organic process has to playfully alternate between contingency and control, roughness and refinement and free-form gestures versus precise detailing.'
