Charlotte van Pallandt is considered one of the most important Dutch sculptors of the 20th century. She was a member of the second generation of the Group of Figurative Abstraction, in short 'the Group'. Her portraits in bronze or stone in particular are highly valued and can be seen in almost all Dutch museums. One of the most striking portraits is the series by the Belgian sculptor and her teacher Albert Termote (1887-1978), it is an ode to him and their friendship. She has made five portraits of Albert Termote, the sixth was never finished and is made of wax. With this portrait she also indicates the structures that make his face so characteristic. A beautiful portrait. Museum Beelden aan Zee also shows the entire making process of the portraits, the drawings, the design built up in plaster plates and the various versions of a portrait, each portrait is a different interpretation. Charlotte van Pallandt's bronzes are always cast in a limited edition of 4 or 10. It is all accurately recorded. The bronze is signed with the monogram 'CP', '84'-'99 and the hallmark of Maarten Smit from Brummen, 'MS'. Afmetingen: Hoogte: 17 cm (6,69") met sokkel: Hoogte: 22 cm (8,66")
