About the artdealer
Founded in 2020 by Guy Kuypers, Spectandum represents the essence of the 16th-century Kunstkammer tradition, intertwining diverse passions and interests.
The collection, based in a 19th century townhouse in the historic Belgian city of Leuven, captivates visitors with its display of exotic, curious, and thought-provoking objects, seamlessly blending together material, shape, color, and purpose.
Drawing inspiration from historic scientific academy cabinets recovered from the Atheneum in Antwerp, originally commissioned by Napoleon in 1807, Spectandum weaves an enchanting visual narrative, celebrating the wonders of the past and present.
This extraordinary collection takes spectators on a multidimensional voyage, immersing them in the realms of anthropology and history, embracing natural history, ethnography, fine art, curiosities and unique decorative objects.
