Bert Oosthout

Bert Oosthout is a contemporary Dutch painter, known for his seascapes. He is inspired by his youth; born in Curaçao, the sea was never far away, and later in the Netherlands he sailed across the Wadden, the IJsselmeer and the North Sea, feeling the greatness of nature. When painting, every small change in the weather image is shown by the view of the horizon and the water. Not one moment is the same because of the tides and the reflection of the skies in the water. Oosthout depicts these impressions in his ‘salt water’ oil paintings.
