About the artist
Hans Hovy was born in 1953 in Amsterdam.
Here he also studied at the Academie voor Beeldende Vorming from 1977-1981. He later trained at Ateliers ’63 in Haarlem from 1981-1983 and is also a qualified furniture-maker. He has worked for several years as a furniture restorer at the Amsterdam Historical Museum.
In his earlier work, Hovy has worked in wood, bronze and cast iron whereby giving his pieces a cuddly look even using those materials.
