Jean Perzel was born in Bavaria in 1892 and died in 1986.
Master glassmaker, goldsmith and designer with a wide technological knowledge, Jean Perzel was a true pioneer in the modern art of lighting. He managed to express a balance rarely achieved between stateliness and grace, luxury and sobriety.
In the 1930s, his nephew François Raidt joined him to follow in his footsteps. Both relentlessly studied and designed thousands of lamps, wall lights, hanging lamps, ceiling lights, floor lamps, reading lamps as well as pieces of furniture such as glass consoles, desks and pedestal tables. The shapes they designed were pure and functional, they have become timeless.
