About the artist
Louis-Eugène Parturier (1864-1944) was a Parisian artist and writer. He also worked as a professor of literature in Le Havre, Quimper and Paris. He was the founder of "La Société Havraise des Beaux-Arts. In 1906 he moved back to Paris and lived in the middle of Montparnasse. He spent his summers in Normandy, at La Plage de Carolles. He painted extensively there and he took asked his son Marcel, who later also became a successful artist.
