Hetty van Oordt was born in the Netherlands in 1960. Photography and camera's have been her passion since she was ten years old.

In the 1980s she held her first exhibition of portraiture and documentary images. In the 1990s and 2000s she was employed as a filmmaker.

Nowadays Van Oordt uses both disciplines in her visual work.
