  Kiln casted glass by Zhenning Li. Unica; 42x24x39 cm
  Zhen Ning Li was born in Beijing where he studied art at the Tsing-hui Academy of Art and Design between 2007 and 2010. He is a Master of Art in Glass and has been teaching at the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture since completing his studies.
  
  
  
  There is a strong reference in the work of the artist to Chinese mythology. His figures, without direct characteristics of gender, are abstract and the colors are intentional blurred in each other. Through his glass images, Zhen Ning Li reflects on why and what for we are here. In his work the spectator sees the mythological characters of gods, devils, dragons and beasts. The figures, which emerge in part from reality and in part from imagination, seem to fight. In spite of their battle, they nevertheless manage to maintain their balance.
  
  The sculptures are metaphors for the transformations, adaptations, and turbulences that people in our contemporary society go through. They mirror the challenge of keeping body and soul in harmony while taking history into account, and remind of the continual struggle for survival.
  
  
  
  The artist asks his audience to look at his work openly, so that they can understand and interpret it in their own way. His works allow the viewers to move from everyday life back to the past; they allow people to recall various aspects of human history.
  
  Zhen Ning Li acknowledgement is rising in China because of the development of the art of glass. This is evident, among other things, by the recognition of various aspects such as his last major solo exhibition ‘WANDERING’ that Zhen Ning Li had in the Shanghai Museum of Glass from December 2017 to April 2018.
  
  Work by Zhen Ning Li is now in many museum collections, including that of the Alexander Tutsek Stiftung in Munich; CORE 3 Association Foundation in the US and in many private collections.

  Zhen Ning Li è nato a Pechino dove ha studiato arte presso l'Accademia di Arte e Design Tsing-hui tra il 2007 e il 2010. È un Master of Art in Glass e insegna all'Università di Ingegneria Civile e Architettura di Pechino da quando ha completato il suo studi. C'è un forte riferimento nell'opera dell'artista alla mitologia cinese. Le sue figure, prive di caratteristiche dirette di genere, sono astratte e i colori sono volutamente sfumati l'uno nell'altro. Attraverso le sue immagini di vetro, Zhen Ning Li riflette sul perché e per cosa siamo qui. Nella sua opera lo spettatore vede i personaggi mitologici di dei, diavoli, draghi e bestie. Le figure, che emergono in parte dalla realtà e in parte dall'immaginazione, sembrano combattere. Nonostante la loro battaglia, riescono comunque a mantenere il loro equilibrio. Le sculture sono metafore delle trasformazioni, degli adattamenti e delle turbolenze che attraversano le persone nella nostra società contemporanea. Rispecchiano la sfida di mantenere corpo e anima in armonia tenendo conto della storia e ricordano la continua lotta per la sopravvivenza. L'artista chiede al suo pubblico di guardare apertamente il suo lavoro, in modo che possano capirlo e interpretarlo a modo loro. Le sue opere consentono agli spettatori di tornare dalla vita quotidiana al passato; permettono alle persone di ricordare vari aspetti della storia umana. Il riconoscimento di Zhen Ning Li è in aumento in Cina a causa dello sviluppo dell'arte del vetro. Ciò è evidente, tra l'altro, dal riconoscimento di vari aspetti come la sua ultima grande mostra personale 'WANDERING' che Zhen Ning Li ha tenuto allo Shanghai Museum of Glass da dicembre 2017 ad aprile 2018. Il lavoro di Zhen Ning Li è ora in molte collezioni museali, tra cui quella dell'Alexander Tutsek Stiftung a Monaco di Baviera; CORE 3 Association Foundation negli Stati Uniti e in molte collezioni private.
