• Over kunstwerk
  Lucy Besson is a multidisciplinary artist who blends in different genres and techniques. During her career, she got more and more involved in the production of portraits, Recently, there is the book "Searching for the Soul" in which Lucy Besson describes her artist's experience of portraiture painting.
  Lucy Besson's free work consists of painting, works on paper, photography and video.
  "Lucy Besson is one of the best photographers in the Netherlands. A number of photo works, also featured in the book "New Dutch Photography Talent 2016", will be exhibited at Gallery Van Strien. "They are often mysterious, intriguing images with a poetic setting. You can not imagine what the image has been before and what will follow. It is the artist's domain. They are kind of stills, as you would expect from a movie. The scenes seem to express both intense emotion and exuberant euphoria.

  Lucy Besson is een in Rusland geboren en in Nederland gevestigde, multidisciplinaire kunstenaar die actief is binnen meerdere gebieden van de hedendaagse kunst. Haar belangrijkste disciplines zijn: fotografie, schilderkunst en audiovisuele media. Tegenwoordig werkt ze aan haar langlopende kunstproject "The Human Being".
  Ludmila Bessonova, geboren in Novokuznetsk (Rusland, 1959) studeerde af in Schilderen & Tekenen aan de Kemerovo Regional Art College, en in 1987 in Textielontwerp aan de Stroganoff Academy of Industrial Art and Design in Moskou. "In 1990 bracht mijn nieuwsgierigheid naar het leven in het westen en mijn interesse in Europese kunst en cultuur mij van Siberië naar Nederland. Door het leven in Nederland te verkennen en meer te weten te komen over de westerse mentaliteit begon ik mensen die ik ontmoette te portretteren. Mijn abstracte textielwerk, dat in Rusland mijn specialisme was geweest, werd vervangen door figuratief Fine Art werk, en hiervoor gebruikte ik verschillende technieken en media zoals roet op papier, acryl en olie op linnen, maar ook fotografie en video. Vervolgens ben ik begonnen met mijn grote langlopende kunstproject "De Mens".
