- Over kunstenaarAloysius Allegonda Petrus van Teeffelen better known as Louis van Teeffelen was born on the 26th of September in 1921. He was one of the best known Dutch furniture designer for the company WéBé (Walvaren en Bevers) located in Beneden-Leeuwen. Around 1960 WéBé was one of the biggest furniture companies in the Netherlands, due to competition of low-wage countries
WéBé lost their popularity a few years later.
Later van Teeffelen also designed for another company named Topform. His work is inspired by the Scandinavian design style. The materials he often uses are very hard wood from the teak tree, brass brackets and black uprights. His most famous work is the Pelican chair. Van Teeffelen died on April 30th in 1972 at the age of fifty-one.
