After graduating from the Gerrit Rietveld Academy in Amsterdam, Raymond Huisman studied Western painting for a long time. Traditionally, visual reality is depicted as if the canvas were a window. In this way one sees the world through the eyes of an artist. The artist sees the world in the context of his time… The infinite number of interpretations of reality are reflected in all those different representations of it. And then, the works of art themselves become part of reality, in turn seen and understood differently.
