Charlot Terhaar sive Droste (1976) si è laureata alla Royal Academy of Art dell'Aia nel 2002.
Nel 2003 le è stata data l'opportunità di esporre permanentemente il suo lavoro in una galleria a Breukelen. Oggi il suo lavoro può essere visto nel suo studio a Portengen vicino a Kockengen.
Dal 2006, Charlot ha partecipato a numerose mostre e fiere d'arte nazionali e internazionali. Il suo lavoro è incluso in varie collezioni private e aziendali, tra cui Waterschap Amstel, Gooi en Vecht ad Amsterdam. Durante la Fiera Internazionale d'Arte (IAF) di Rotterdam ha ricevuto il "Premio Miglior Artista".
Nel 2023, Charlot è stata selezionata per partecipare all '"ArtistMeeting" al Grand Casino di Knokke. E nel 2024 ha ricevuto il primo premio alla EuropArtFair 2024 nella Westergasfabriek di Amsterdam.
'Being in a state of flow, transcends a feeling beyond time and space, every streak of color or kindled shape arise out of an intrinsic desire to draw and paint. Inspired by nature and meditation the paintings of Charlot emerge responsively through different phases, exploring ‘worlds’ in which chaos and harmony meet and must agree somehow. Therefore, this intuitive organic process has to playfully alternate between contingency and control, roughness and refinement and free-form gestures versus precise detailing.'
