• A proposito di opere artista

  Nico Vrielink (1958, Reusel) ha seguito un corso di formazione per insegnanti presso un'accademia d'arte in Belgio. L'insegnamento si è rivelato però non essere la sua vocazione e dal 1984 lavora da solo come artista.

  Nel 1985, durante uno dei suoi numerosi viaggi, Vrielink incontra sua moglie Jeane a Singapore. È amore a prima vista e da allora Jeane è stata la più grande fonte di ispirazione di Vrielink. Può essere giustamente chiamata la sua musa ispiratrice. Vrielink ha realizzato più di 4000 opere d'arte con lei come soggetto. Non solo il modello è rimasto lo stesso nel corso degli anni, ma anche i dipinti. Per lo più (semi) nudo, orientale, realistico, idilliaco, riconoscibile ed esotico.

  Il suo punto di partenza è ritrarre il volto di sua moglie come perfezione. Il resto del corpo, l'arredamento e la finitura generale sono continuamente adattati a questo, da scuro a luminoso. A causa della discrezione che Vrielink pone nel suo lavoro, rimane una distanza naturale tra il modello e lo spettatore.

  Vrielink e Jeane hanno vissuto in molti luoghi diversi nel corso degli anni, dai Paesi Bassi alla Francia e Bali. Tutti questi luoghi hanno la loro influenza sul suo lavoro. Il lavoro di Vrielink è stato ammirato e acclamato in tutto il mondo, come dimostrano le numerose mostre nei luoghi più esotici.
