This oil painting was depicted on the invitation card of the exhibition of Paul Hugo ten Hoopen at gallery Charlotte Daneel (1990).
Paul Hugo ten Hoopen (1927) is a painter, watercolourist and essayist. For many years he worked as a professor of drawing at the 'Rijksacademie' in Amsterdam.
Figuration in his landscapes and interiors is abstracted and reduced to the essentials.
His works were created in France and Switzerland, and are determined by a simple palette of green, blue, yellow and red.

Paul Hugo ten Hoopen nasceu em Doetinchem, Holanda, em 1927. Ten Hoopen é pintor, desenhista, aquarelista e ensaísta. Ele foi educado na State Academy of Fine Arts em Amsterdam e na Schule des Sehens - Oskar Kokoschka em Salzburg. Durante os anos de 1969-1992, ten Hoopen foi professor da National Acadamy of Art em Amsterdã. Currentyl, ele é membro do Círculo Aquarelista Holandês, The Keerkring e Arti and Amicitiae. De ca. 1960 em diante, Ten Hoopen realizou inúmeras exposições individuais e coletivas. Ele também ganhou um trio de prêmios: o Prêmio Kokoschka em Salzburgo em 1958; a Bolsa para Viagens do Ministério de O. K. & W em 1965; o prêmio Jeanne Bieruma-Oosting de pintura figurativa em 1986. Seu trabalho pode ser admirado em museus como o Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, Museum Henriëtte Polak Zutphen, Het Rijk, em áreas ao redor de Amsterdam, Amstelveen, Venlo e Zeist, e no ABN- Edifício Amro Bank. Seu trabalho pode ser visto em várias coleções particulares na Holanda e no exterior também.
