About the artist
Adrianus Johannes Groenewegen (1874-1963) is considered to be one of the last members of the Hague School in the Netherlands. He studied at the Academie van Beeldende Kunsten in Rotterdam.
He is known for his typical Dutch landscapes with cattle and figures. His works - mostly watercolours- are known for their bright colours. His works made him known outside Holland; In the United Kingdom and United States his works can be found in several (private) collections.
