Frans Breuhaus de Groot lived and worked in Leiden. In 1838 he moved to The Hague where he became a pupil of Andreas Schelfhout. In 1845 he became a member of the Royal Academy in Amsterdam. Breuhaus de Groot was specialized in landscapes.

Frans Breuhaus de Groot era un pittore olandese che lavorò a Leida come pasticcere fino a quando si trasferì a L'Aia nel 1838 per dedicarsi all'arte. Ha ricevuto lezioni di disegno nel suo tempo libero durante il suo tempo come pasticcere da B. van den Broek. Mentre viveva a L'Aia, Frans intraprese numerosi viaggi in Germania. Frans Breuhaus de Groot alla fine divenne allievo del famoso pittore Andreas Schelfhout. Divenne membro della Royal Academy di Amsterdam nel 1845.
