    Hans Bayens è stato uno scultore, designer di libri e pittore olandese. Era nato in Belgio, ma era figlio di due genitori olandesi. Dopo la scuola ad Amsterdam, ha studiato al Nationaal Hoger Instituut voor Schone Kunsten (Anversa) tra il 1946 e il 1949. È stato allievo di Isodore Opsomer. Dopo aver lavorato a Parigi, si trasferisce nel 1952 ad Amsterdam. Bayens dipinto in uno stile impressionista. Ha realizzato dipinti di Willem Drees, Wim Kan e Maurits van Loon e altri. Come scultore ha realizzato bronzi di autori olandesi come Mutatuli e Theo Thijssen. È considerato un membro dell'Onafhankelijk Realisme (realismo indipendente).
