    [Netherlands, ca. 1733-1777]. 18.5 x 30.5 cm. Watercolour on paper with a branch of redberries, two peaches, a blue plum, an opened walnut, an opened hazel nut and a large green/blue pumpkin.

    Beautiful still life of fruits by Michiel van Huysum (1703-1777), a painter of flowers and fruits. He was a brother of the famous still life painter Jan van Huysum (1682-1740). Michiel van Huysum's active working years are estimated between 1729 and 1759, his work is extremely rare.
    Paper with watermark: 'D&C Blauw'.
    Some foxing. Watercolour in very good condition.

    Michiel van Huysum est né à Amsterdam. Il est né dans une famille d'artistes artistiques. Michiel est connu pour ses paysages arcadiens, ses aquarelles de fruits et de fleurs. Il est décédé à l'âge de 74 ans à Amsterdam. Il était le plus jeune fils du peintre Justus van Huysum (I); et frère de Jan van Huysum et oncle de Francina Margaretha van Huysum
