  [Netherlands, ca. 1733-1777]. 18.5 x 30.5 cm. Watercolour on paper with a branch of redberries, two peaches, a blue plum, an opened walnut, an opened hazel nut and a large green/blue pumpkin.
  
  Beautiful still life of fruits by Michiel van Huysum (1703-1777), a painter of flowers and fruits. He was a brother of the famous still life painter Jan van Huysum (1682-1740). Michiel van Huysum's active working years are estimated between 1729 and 1759, his work is extremely rare.
  Paper with watermark: 'D&C Blauw'.

  Michiel van Huysum è nato ad Amsterdam. È nato in una famiglia artistica di artisti. Michiel è noto per i suoi paesaggi arcadici, acquerelli di frutta e fiori. Morì all'età di 74 anni ad Amsterdam. Era il figlio più giovane del pittore Justus van Huysum (I); e fratello di Jan van Huysum e zio di Francina Margaretha van Huysum
