- A proposito di opere artistaAlexander Hugo Bakker Korff è stato un pittore di genere olandese del XIX secolo. Fu allievo dei pittori Cornelis Kruseman e Huib van Hove. Bakker Korff si formò alla Koninklijke Academie van Beeldende Kunsten a L'Aia e alla Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten (Royal Academy of Fine Arts) ad Anversa nel 1840. Inizialmente, dipinse scene mitologiche e bibliche in stile romantico-classico. Tuttavia nel 1850 si staccò dalle convenzioni accademiche e passò a dipingere pezzi di genere di donne con berretto negli interni. Spesso chiamato "Bakker Korffjes", è diventato famoso e famoso a livello internazionale per questo lavoro. Nel 1970 è stato insignito del titolo di 'ridder in de Leopoldsorde'. È stato membro della società artistica olandese Pulchri Studio, L'Aia.
