- A proposito di opere artistaJacob Bendien era un pittore e grafico olandese nato ad Amsterdam il 16 aprile 1890. Morì ad Amsterdam il 16 dicembre 1933. Bendien si trasferì a Parigi nel 1911 dove conobbe lo scultore e pittore John Rädecker e il pittore Jan van Deene. Lì iniziò ad adottare l'arte astratta che chiamò pittura "assoluta". Questi dipinti furono mostrati alla mostra autunnale di "The Independents" ad Amsterdam nel 1913. La sua arte astratta è caratterizzata da vari colori e linee che potrebbero essere letti come un riflesso del sé interiore dell'artista. Nel 1916 e nel 1917 espone le sue teste di fantasia e disegni astratti. Bendien ha scritto un libro sulla pittura moderna che è stato pubblicato dopo la sua morte. Bendien ha anche creato varie sculture.
