About the artist

Natasja Bennink was born on 28 July 1974 and is a Dutch sculptor who attended the Acadamy Minerva in Groningen, enrolling at the Academy of Fine Arts in Athens in between.

Her work is characterised by monumental figurative bronze sculptures depicting the power and vulnerability of women. Bennink’s sculptures are held by many public collections, including the Drents Museum, Inno-Com, Museum Van Lien and private collections across Europe and the United States.

Her most famous sculpture is the ‘Vijf kussen van Appingedam’, a commissioned work captured by the documentary ‘De Vijf kussen’ by Marleen Godlieb.
