Frederik Manicus was born in 1740 and died in 1785. Manicus was a very competent craftsman with an understanding of the Louis XV and Louis XVI ornament.
Provenance: Dutch private collection - About the artistFrederik Manicus was a renowned Dutch silversmith working in the eighteenth century. Frederik was born in the year 1740. During his life he was seen as a greatly skilled craftsman, with an intuitive understanding of the ornament styles of the Louis XV and the Louis XVI periods. Frederik Manicus passed away in 1785, at the age of 45.
