About the artist
After completing her art education at the academy in Den Bosch, the talented Iris Schreven initially entered the world of business. But in 2007, she made a remarkable turn by trading in her job for a career as an artist. Since then, she has devoted herself entirely to her painting, which has evolved with her over the years.
Iris Schreven creates works that illuminate the deepest nature of women. The understated grace with which they reveal their inner world is perhaps the most striking feature of her creations.
Her paintings depict faces that seem to melt into the background, imbued with a subtle sense of melancholy. Organic shapes appear as abstract details, partly created by experimental techniques and treatments with various materials and tools on aluminum panels.
The mysterious atmosphere and her unwavering dedication to detail remain the signature of Iris Schreven's artwork. She remains driven to discover new insights again and again, so that she can capture the beauty of the world around her in her own mysterious atmosphere.
