  Marcel Wanders (Boxtel, 1963) è rinomato a livello internazionale per il suo prodotto, il design di mobili e interni e la direzione artistica. Si è laureato con lode alla Hogeschool voor de Kunsten (ora ArtEZ) ad Arnhem nel 1988 dopo essere stato espulso dalla Eindhoven Design Academy. Nel 1995 apre il suo studio ad Amsterdam, raggiungendo rapidamente l'attenzione mondiale nel 1996 per la sua Knotted Chair, in cui un materiale high tech è combinato con una tecnica macramé low-tech. Dal 2001 Wanders lavora anche come art director per Moooi, l'etichetta di interni di successo di cui è co-proprietario. Oggi i suoi disegni onirici, che fanno riferimento a stili noti del passato, hanno particolarmente successo all'estero e lavora per marchi di fama internazionale come Alessi, Moroso, KLM, Swarovski, Marks & Spencer, Puma, Kartell. Inoltre Wanders ha lavorato a progetti di interni come la sala VIP del padiglione olandese alla Fiera Mondiale di Hannover (2000), il Mondrian Hotel Miami (2008) e l'Andaz Amsterdam Prinsengracht Hotel (2012).
