About the artist
Victor Guerrier (1893 - 1968) was French painter, born in Lyon. Initially an illustrator, Guerrier became famous for his paintings, depicting subjects from the Belle Epoque and the Paris high society during the 20s and 30s. Among his subjects are the nightclubs in Montmartre and the cafés in the Champ d’ Elysée. His work is influenced by the celebrated artists Édouard Manet and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec.
