- A proposito di opere artistaGeorg Rueter (1875, Haarlem - 1966, Amsterdam), nome completo Wilhelm Christian Georg Rueter, è stato uno scultore olandese (bronzo), incisore, litografo, taglialegna, pittore, pittore di vetro, designer. Dopo aver studiato disegno per quattro anni, ricevette un Certificato di Insegnamento del Disegno nel 1894. Dal 1894 al 1896 studiò con August Allebé alla Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten (Accademia Statale di Belle Arti), Amsterdam. Tra il 1921 e il 1940 fu insegnante (lettore) in questa accademia. Il famoso disegnatore e illustratore Johan Herman Isings è stato uno dei suoi allievi. Georg Rueter era sposato con Gerarda Lang. Ha vissuto e lavorato ad Haarlem, Sloten, Sloterdijk e Amsterdam. Rueter ha creato tra gli altri paesaggi, paesaggi urbani, ritratti, autoritratti, animali, disegni di libri, decorazioni per libri, ex libris. È stato insignito della Medaglia d'Argento di Amsterdam nel 1963 e nel 1923 è stato insignito della Medaglia Reale dalla Regina Guglielmina. Era un membro di Arti et Amicitiae, Amsterdam, e Saint Lucas, Amsterdam.
