    Not not too much information could be found on this impressionist painter. Known is that Pinheiro was born in Portugal at the end of the XIXth century, he arrived at a young age to France and spent most of his life depicting the Parisian Belle Epoque. Pinheiro excelled at portraying elegant ladies shopping along the Grands Boulevards, lively city streets and the grand Parisian monuments like the Louvre and Versailles. Pinheiro painted with pastel tones and not with too much detail to create an overall harmonious composition that allows the eye to move effortlessly across the canvas. The painting seems carefree and breathes an atmosphere of ease and harmony.

    Oscar Pinheiro werd aan het einde van de 19e eeuw in Portugal geboren, hij arriveerde op jonge leeftijd in Frankrijk en bracht het grootste deel van zijn leven door met het uitbeelden van de Parijse Belle Epoque. Pinheiro blonk uit in het portretteren van elegante dames die winkelen langs de Grands Boulevards, levendige stadsstraten en de grote Parijse monumenten zoals het Louvre en Versailles.

    Pinheiro schilderde met pasteltinten en niet te veel detail om een algehele harmonieuze compositie te creëren waarmee het oog moeiteloos over het canvas kan bewegen. Het schilderij oogt zorgeloos en ademt een sfeer van gemak en harmonie.
