- Over kunstenaarPeter Vanbekbergen (1962) was born in Leuven, where he also took classes at the Academy of Fine Art. He later specialized in sculptures and ceramics. He is currently living in Rotselaar in Belgium. He makes figures that seem to come from another world, they are not realistic. Their skin looks worn, old and battered and the eyes of the figures are half closed. You cannot tell if the figures are male or female and it is hard to read an expression from their faces. Besides figures he also makes sculptors of dogs, these dogs also have a worn skin and half closed eyes. Vanbekbergen is part of the Belgium School together with José Vermeersch and Herman Muys.
