- A proposito di opere artistaNel 1829 Wylie & Lochhead fu fondata dagli ebanisti scozzesi Robert Wylie e William Lochhead. Inizialmente, l'azienda è stata fondata con lo scopo di costruire bare, ma ha iniziato a crescere con molto successo. Presto, a Glasgow, in Scozia, iniziarono a spuntare officine e showroom di mobili. Wylie & Lockhead divennero famosi per i loro design e livelli di artigianato, specialmente durante il tardo periodo vittoriano ed edoardiano. Successivamente sono stati aperti showroom in Inghilterra in città più grandi come Londra e Manchester, e hanno iniziato a vendere anche all'estero, come in America.
