After studying philosophy, artist Keimpe van der Kooi decided to attend the Art Academy. He chose the Classical Academy for Painting in Groningen. That was a good choice, and he has already made a name for himself as an artist in various ways.
He participated in and won ‘Stars on Canvas’, and is now a teacher at the Classical Academy where he teaches third-year students everything about colour. He has had many successful exhibitions and his work has been sold all over the world. Keimpe also publishes a lot about art and artists in magazines such as Atelier and Palet.
The beautiful location where Keimpe has had his studio for four years is in Drenthe. On the edge of forests and fields, Keimpe can retreat and concentrate on his still lifes, portraits, landscapes and gardens.
